We understand that sometimes rehoming is unavoidable, still, please consider all alternatives before deciding to rehome.
PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue is currently at FULL CAPACITY and unable to accept new surrenders.
Rehoming
What animals does your rescue accept?
PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue Specializes in Guinea pigs, however we accept the following animals:
- Guinea Pigs
- Hamsters ( If all housing materials are donated)
Although it is in high demand, We do not, and will not accepts rabbits. Due to rabbits carrying bacteria that is dangerous to the guinea pigs in our care. Any rabbits you see on our page we are sharing them on behalf of another rescuer.
How do I surrender my pet?
If you still wish to surrender, please fill out our surrender application and one of our representatives will get in touch shortly.
If I surrender, can I still get updates on how my pet is doing?
We know surrendering can be a difficult decision, and you may be nervous about how your pet will do at our rescue & in their new home. Here at PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue, we want to make the surrendering process as easy as possible. If requested we will update you up to the day of adoption so that you know your special friend is getting the best care possible.
Do you accept surrenders with medical issues?
If you have an animal with a medical issue, we ask that you please contact a larger rescue for your surrender. PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue is a small rescue and unable to accommodate any medical cases at this time.
What if I want to return an animal I got from your rescue?
We understand that circumstances can change, and we’re here to help if you need to return an animal adopted from us. Please reach out via the same channel you used initially—text (preferred), Facebook Messenger, or email—and include the year you adopted, the animal’s name at the time, your reason for the return, and any specific timing needs. We ask that you contact us first and not attempt rehoming independently.
Please DO NOT release your pet into the "Wild"
Releasing an animal is not only illegal in the state of Texas but it can also have permanent damaging consequences to your pet. Learn more here
